From Office to Nursery

Bye Bye home office, hello new nursery.  This is my favorite part about being pregnant.  Well I guess my favorite part will be meeting our little boy, but building a room for him helps me to prepare for his arrival.  Right now, it is hard to imagine that this room will be a nursery, but I know it will.  We have alot of work to do.  The closet was full of all our our coats, Ami's suits, my wedding dress, and purses.  I figure we have to basically get rid of 50% of everything and find a home for the other 50%.  I will be getting rid of my desk and we will be moving one desk and one desktop computer to the loft.  But we also have 2 file cabinets and 2 shelving units full of stuff.  I'm not sure where Ami will house his complete series of Highlander TV shows on VHS tapes--we don't even have a VCR to watch them on.  I am also guilty of keeping things---I have a huge box of scrapbook supplies and for some reason I keep every piece of paper known to man.

I never took before pictures of Chloe's room, so I made sure to take them this time....As you can see we have our work cut out for us.

While digging through some old boxes, I found a few items from my childhood that I thought would fit in a boys room.  I used most of the things I was saving for Chloe's room, so was happy that I found these.  I'll have to see what Ami has to add and we can pass down a nice collection of heirlooms.

This little piggy even has money in it.  I don't think I ever knew how to open it up.

Chloe loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and wanted to steal Donald for herself, but I think it has boy written all over it.

Our Baby Boy!

We got the news on November 1st that Chloe is going to have a little brother.  I can't believe we are lucky enough to have a beautiful little girl and now bouncing baby boy.

Now the challenge of picking a name begins....

What a cute button nose.  I can't wait to kiss it!

The more things change, the more they stay the same:

So one thing I am doing different this time around is attending a Pre-Natal Yoga class at least once a week.  I always thought I would do it when I was pregnant with Chloe, but could never find one that was convenient. It seemed like they were always at 9am on a Tuesday or Saturday at Noon.  But I have managed to find a yoga studio that offers it at 7:30pm on Mondays--I've been to 3 classes so far and really like it.  It gives me time away from Chloe to focus on the new baby. It is also good to have the positive energy of other moms to be.  I'm trying to let go of my past birthing experience and realize that this is a completely new baby and my experience will be completely different.  I feel like the time has gone by pretty fast--maybe it was because I didn't feel as sick, or that Chloe and work have kept me too busy to really think about being pregnant.

But as different as this second time around has been--some things are exactly the same.  My clothes are no longer fitting and I am trying to find pants with elastic waist bands. I'm tired and want to be in bed by 9pm.  I am having weird  dreams--no birthing kittens or having a kangaroo pouch--but weird. Im my dreams, Ami has started smoking, I've been an air marshall, school counselor, and walked from Sedona to Phoenix.  Every night I have some crazy dream and I remember it so vividly.  Why that happens when you are pregnant--I have no idea--I will have to google it soon.

How big is baby?

At 16 weeks, kronbaby2 is the size of an avocado: 3.5 oz and 4.6 inches.

I had a doctors appointment this week and everything is looking good.  Baby's heart rate was 152 and my blood pressure is good.  By early November, we should know if we are having a little prince or princess.  We can't wait.  I think it is true that the second pregnancy goes by much faster. I've been so busy at work, and then when we get home from work--it is all about Chloe, and then I'm beat--so bedtime by 9pm it is.  Other than being tired, I feel great!
(However, I could really live without all this breaking out--It must be a boy).

Proof of Life

I know I took at least two home pregnancy tests as well as urine and blood tests at the doctors office, but until you hear the heart beat, feel the baby move, or see it on the ultrasound it just doesn't seem real.  I know all the nausea, fatigue, weight gain, extreme hunger, and irritability should clue me in that "Yes, I'm really pregnant again."  But I just needed that extra confirmation.

And here it is...our baby's first pictures:

These are some of the 3D images. Still curled up, but has arms and legs.
I just love these profile pictures-do you see the little foot and even the little toes.

These were taken on September 15, 2010 at 11 weeks 6 days. The due date is still March 31, 2011.

All the first trimester tests came back normal-so I guess it is time we start telling people.

Just what the doctor ordered....

Well, not exactly--I wish he would have ordered a heart beat from our little one...but no luck.  I was sure we would hear a heart beat and announce the news to everyone, but the secret is still ours.  I'm apologizing to everyone I've lied to in the past two weeks.  But to be honest, it is kinda fun knowing that we have a BIG secret.  The doctor's appointment on August 25th was pretty standard..pee in a cup, step on the scale--gained 3 pounds--not surprised, take your blood pressure-normal, take off you clothes-the doctor will be right in, get dressed, make your next appointment, go to the next room and give blood.   Yeah..yeah..yeah, I've done this before.

Next doctor's appointment is scheduled for September 15th and we will have our first ultrasound.   More updates then.
