Please vote: Help me design our nursery!

I'm pretty sure the colors of the nursery will be blue, green, and brown but I can't decide whether to go with the adorable animals and dots or simple sophistiacation with the stripes.  What do you think?  Help me decide--vote on the side panel
Option 1: Kids Line Peek-a-Boo Pals

Option 2: Pottery Barn Kids Kasey Striped

Over the hump

We made it over the hump and 18 weeks to go.  At my last doctors appoiuntment, everything looked good.  Baby's heart rate was strong, my blood pressure was good and I'm gaining about a pound a week.  The baby is the size of a banana and probably weighs in at just over 10 ounces and should be slightly longer than 7 inches!

The baby's growth will grow just a bit as the baby concentrates on developing his organs and nervous system. Right now the baby's intestines will slowly start to contract and relax and your baby can now swallow and absorb fluids via the amniotic fluid. While this may seem strange, this actually encourages your baby's digestive system to mature fully.

The baby may also start hiccupping, but I haven't felt it yet.  I have felt a little bit of movement, but not much.  I'm actually looking forward to feeling his little kicks and punches . It lets me know he's having fun in there.

Shopping Spree

Our little baby boy will have a place to rest his head.  Today we purchased his crib and dresser.  Like we did with Chloe, we bought a convertible crib that can be transformed into a toddler bed and then into a full size bed with headboard and footboard.  We also purchased a dresser and hutch.  The dresser will serve as the changing table and then the hutch will be added later for more shelving to store all the trophies this little one will win.  Our crib is ready to be picked up this weekend, even though it will still be a while until we clear out the room.  The dresser and hutch are on back order--which is typical--so we should have that in about 9-11 weeks.  But here is a sneak peak from some pictures I found on the internet.

Nursery Ideas

We are leaning toward an animal theme in our baby boys nursery.  Like Chloe's room, we want something over the crib that isn't able to be pulled down or will fall down, so I just love these animal outline decals.
I really was surprised to find out that we were having a boy and had it in my head to do some sort of tree.  So for a boy, I love these monkeys.

I don't just want to do blue and like this bedding from Pottery Barn Kids.

From Office to Nursery

Bye Bye home office, hello new nursery.  This is my favorite part about being pregnant.  Well I guess my favorite part will be meeting our little boy, but building a room for him helps me to prepare for his arrival.  Right now, it is hard to imagine that this room will be a nursery, but I know it will.  We have alot of work to do.  The closet was full of all our our coats, Ami's suits, my wedding dress, and purses.  I figure we have to basically get rid of 50% of everything and find a home for the other 50%.  I will be getting rid of my desk and we will be moving one desk and one desktop computer to the loft.  But we also have 2 file cabinets and 2 shelving units full of stuff.  I'm not sure where Ami will house his complete series of Highlander TV shows on VHS tapes--we don't even have a VCR to watch them on.  I am also guilty of keeping things---I have a huge box of scrapbook supplies and for some reason I keep every piece of paper known to man.

I never took before pictures of Chloe's room, so I made sure to take them this time....As you can see we have our work cut out for us.

While digging through some old boxes, I found a few items from my childhood that I thought would fit in a boys room.  I used most of the things I was saving for Chloe's room, so was happy that I found these.  I'll have to see what Ami has to add and we can pass down a nice collection of heirlooms.

This little piggy even has money in it.  I don't think I ever knew how to open it up.

Chloe loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and wanted to steal Donald for herself, but I think it has boy written all over it.

Our Baby Boy!

We got the news on November 1st that Chloe is going to have a little brother.  I can't believe we are lucky enough to have a beautiful little girl and now bouncing baby boy.

Now the challenge of picking a name begins....

What a cute button nose.  I can't wait to kiss it!
